Liverpool expected to make a move for Lyon winger Malick Fofana after Federico Chiesa’s exit

Liverpool FC are expected to try their luck at signing Lyon winger Malick Fofana (20) as soon as Italy international Federico Chiesa (27) leaves the Premier League champions, according to Sacha Tavolieri. The Reds are reportedly on standby for the Belgium international, who is highly-rated by the Reds’ scouting department.

Chiesa is expected to leave Liverpool after only one season on Merseyside. The former Juventus player has been omitted from the Reds’ preseason tour in Asia. Foot Mercato adds that Liverpool would command a €15m transfer fee to part ways with Chiesa, who is under contract with Liverpool until 2028. Atalanta Bergamo are reportedly leading the race to sign Chiesa, who is also of interest for Roma, Florentina and Bologna.
