Liverpool are willing to do what it takes to get Alexander Isak. That includes meeting his staggering demand.
It's no secret that Liverpool want to sign Alexander Isak. The Reds have had him at the top of their shortlist for most of 2025 and went into this summer with every intention of getting a deal done.

Of course, 'getting a deal done' is far from routine. Newcastle want a record fee for their star and while Liverpool are willing to pay that, the Magpies still won't necessarily accept it.
All we know for sure is that if Isak is to leave Newcastle, it will be for an enormous amount of money. He's pushing for a move, too, as confirmed by several places, and only to Liverpool.
Though, it seems that won't be too simple, either. Isak has at least one incredible demand in order to move - so will the Reds meet it?
Ben Jacobs tells Talksport that Isak's reported wage demands of £300k per week would be met by Liverpool. The Reds can afford that - though it remains to be seen if he'd ask them to.
That's the reported figure Isak is asking of Newcastle in order to renew his contract. They can't afford that, which is something we imagine he was entirely aware of.
Isak, after all, wants to leave Newcastle. It stands to reason that he wouldn't have quite so high demands for a club he did want to play for, such as Liverpool.
But it appears Liverpool could still afford those wages, should he ask for them. It does make some sense.
Federico Chiesa, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz are all on large salaries and expected to leave in the new few weeks. It frees up a lot of cash and room on the wage bill, even after Florian Wirtz joined.
