Liverpool and Everton target Malick Fofana suffers injury blow | OneFootball

Olympique Lyonnais’ Malick Fofana (20) is being heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, however, the Belgium international has now suffered an injury blow.

Fofana is the subject of an approach from Everton. Their initial approach has been rejected, as per L’Équipe, whilst Sacha Tavolieri understands that the forward is prioritising a move to a UEFA Champions League side. The Belgian journalist adds that Everton’s cross-city rivals, Liverpool, are also interested in signing the highly-rated player.

However, amid the pursuit from the two Liverpool clubs, Fofana has sustained an injury that will hamper his preparations for the coming season. Fofana sustained a hit to the head during Monday’s training session, RMC Sport report. As per concussion guidelines, he will now be out for the next ten days and will miss the next two friendlies, which are against Mallorca and Bayern Munich. He will, however, return for OL’s first game of the Ligue 1 season, against RC Lens on 16th August, if he is still at the club.
