Liverpool owner John Henry has been the subject of vociferous criticism in light of a new Netflix documentary.

Henry has been no stranger to criticism in his 14 years as owner of the Reds, from attempts to raise ticket prices to trying to trademark the name of the city and the European Super League debacle.

However, Henry and the ownership have each time relented and backed away from these ill-conceived notions.

Arsenal spent the weekend complaining about an impending injury crisis threatening to derail their entire season, but in the end it emerged that Liverpool are the banged-up side.

Arne Slot's men are in the midst of a relentless period, facing Brighton twice in the next four days, without key members of the starting XI.

Diogo Jota, Alisson, Federico Chiesa, Conor Bradley and Harvey Elliott all missed out at the Emirates for the weekend draw against the Gunners.

Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could soon be welcoming another club to his Red Bull empire as the energy drinks giant eyes up a first Italian move.

Klopp, 57, was recently announced as Red Bull’s new Global Head of Soccer, officially taking up his duties in January 2025.

As well as RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, Paris FC, teams in North and South America as well as Japan, Klopp will also be taking a keen interest in Leeds United - now part-owned by the Austrian company - as well as any other potential new acquisitions.

"I think for me, we're all believing that I can win the Ballon d'Or.” Ngumoha answered, “I want to be regarded as one of the best players to ever play football and yeah, be a legend in the game."

This is a timely comment by Ngumoha, given the Ballon d’Or ceremony coming yesterday and Trent Alexander-Arnold’s recent comment that he would like to be the first full-back to win the award.

Former Al-Ahli star Hussein Abdulghani has called for Roberto Firmino to lose his captaincy. Saudi platform Kooora reports that instead Abdulghani “praised the performance of Al Ahly's Senegalese goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, noting that he hopes to see him as the team's captain”.

"Mendy's injury is a big loss.” said the former star, “I criticized him at the beginning of his career with the team, but now I demand that he be the captain."

We previously reported that Firmino’s ongoing crisis opens the door for the PIF to view Mo Salah as the perfect player to solve Al-Ahli’s woes. With Toney replacing Firmino at the centre of attack, there is a place for Salah on the wing if they are willing to move Riyad Mahrez over to the left.

The jet-heeled Luis Diaz is growing in prominence for club and country, leading to a rush of interest in his services both on and off the field.

And it has been revealed that Diaz’s representatives have been contacting companies in order to generate some brand partnerships through the rest of 2024 and into 2025.

“Following his blistering start to the season, Luis Diaz is being offered to companies for potential brand partnerships,” Mail Online's Inside Sport column reveals.

“An email sent to major firms, seen by Inside Sport, offers Diaz for deals for the rest of 2024 and into 2025.

“According to agency MN2S, the Liverpool star is available for 'endorsements, collaborations, sponsorship opportunities and personal appearances'.”

Ruben Amorim is currently the strong favourite to become the next Manchester United manager following the sacking of Erik ten Hag on Monday.

Discussions are reported to be underway between Man Utd and Sporting CP over a compensation package for Amorim, who is said to have already verbally agreed to move to Old Trafford.

Amorim was for some time considered the runaway favourite to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool. After the trail for Xabi Alonso went cold, Amorim moved into pole position for the Anfield role but owing to a variety of factors he ended up pledging his future to Sporting.
