Senegalese tactician expected to lead the Medina club
Souleymane Diallo
ASC Jaraaf of Dakar could soon welcome a new face to its dugout. According to multiple sources, Souleymane Diallo, currently the coach of the local Lions, is the frontrunner to take over the technical reins of the Medina club as the new season approaches.
The coach, renowned for his impressive spell at the helm of Guédiawaye FC and his role as assistant to Serigne Saliou Dia during the U17 Lion Cubs' 2023 triumph, is tipped to succeed Malick Daf, who is now in charge at Teungueth FC. According to the daily L’Observateur, a two-year contract is under discussion and could be finalized as soon as the African Nations Championship (CHAN) concludes, where the local Lions are still in the running for a spot in the final.
While the deal is being finalized, Demba Bâ, recently appointed as assistant coach, will serve as interim manager. Jaraaf, gearing up for the preliminary rounds of the CAF Champions League, is pinning its hopes on the experience and discipline of Diallo, who holds a doctorate in education sciences and is a CAMES-certified lecturer. His mission will be to retain the Senegalese league title and deliver a continental campaign worthy of the ambitions of this historic Medina club.
