The new French Ligue 1 season kicks off this weekend, starting Friday, August 15, 2025. And for their first match, Le Havre will have to do without their captain Abdoulaye Touré. The 31-year-old Guinean midfielder is unavailable.

Le Havre travel to Monaco this Saturday, August 16, to begin their 2025-2026 campaign. Already missing their experienced midfielder for the final preseason games, coach Luka Elsner will once again have to cope without him. As a key squad member and, above all, the captain, Abdoulaye Touré is known for his influence on the pitch and his leadership. But a hamstring injury will keep him sidelined for several more weeks.

While awaiting his return, another player will wear the captain's armband. After an encouraging season last year, Le Havre are determined to start strong despite this absence and confirm their ambitions in Ligue 1.
