Liam Rosenior makes interesting statement about Chelsea ace he claims will have a “remarkable career” | OneFootball

Strasbourg boss Liam Rosenior has stated he’d like to work with Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic again next season.

Petrovic is currently thriving in Ligue 1 having joined Chelsea’s sister club on loan last summer, and he’s been one of their best performers.

The 25-year-old has kept seven clean sheets in his last ten games, with Strasbourg still in with a chance of qualifying for the Champions League.

Rosenior wants to work with Petrovic next season

Petrovic is expected to return to Chelsea and challenge for the number one shirt next season, but there’s no guarantee he’ll remain at Stamford Bridge this summer.

His performances haven’t gone unnoticed with Aston Villa said to be interested in a move and it will be interesting to see what Chelsea decide to do.

It’s been reported the Blues will conduct a summer review of the goalkeeper position before deciding if they need to enter the market.

Petrovic is clearly good enough to be Chelsea number one, and Rosenior has revealed he’d like to work with the Serb again next season.

“The more I see him here, the more he smiles, and the happier he is, it’s to his credit,” he said as cited on X.com.

“He has a beautiful young family who has settled in the area, and he’s going to have a remarkable career.

“I love working with him and hopefully somehow we can still collaborate in the future. Whether it’s here or elsewhere in five years, I’d like it to be next season.”

Petrovic joined Chelsea in the summer of 2023 from MLS side New England Revolution in a deal worth £14m, which is looking like a bargain currently.

Chelsea would be in line to make a significant profit if they decided to cash in on the keeper this summer, but hopefully they make the right decision and keep him.
