Lewis-Potter on target in behind-closed-doors friendly | OneFootball

Keane Lewis-Potter and Frank Onyeka both scored for Brentford in a 2-1 behind-closed-doors win against Wolfsburg on Saturday morning, as Jonas Wind scored a late consolation goal for the German side.

Following Friday night's 4-4 draw at Gtech Community Stadium, two different Wolfsburg and Brentford XIs went head-to-head again at the Robert Rowan Performance Centre.

The Bees took the lead early on as a Ryan Trevitt cross found Lewis-Potter at the back post and the latter managed to steer his header over the Wolfsburg keeper.

Myles Peart-Harris looked threatening throughout, and the 21-year-old almost found Lewis-Potter, who was lurking at the back post again, for his brace.

Ben Mee returned from his lengthy period on the sidelines and he made a great tackle on Wind to prevent an equaliser.

Hákon Valdimarsson was rarely troubled but he had to be alert to stop another Wind effort inside the box, which was the away side’s best chance of the first half.

B team players Conor McManus and Iwan Morgan were brought on at the 65-minute mark, as they replaced both Mee and Lewis-Potter, who both put in positive performances.

Peart-Harris did again well to beat his man on the counter and played a great reverse pass to Morgan, but the striker could not find the right connection with the ball to steer his shot goalwards.

Brentford grabbed their second with 15 minutes left to go in the game, as Ji-soo Kim fed Morgan, who gave Onyeka the easy job of tapping into the back of the net.

Morgan should have scored himself soon after the west Londoners' second, as he was clean through on goal, but the goalkeeper made himself big to deny the youngster.

Wind who was proving to be a nuisance all game did finally get his goal, finishing well from close range.

That would only be a consolation, however, as Brentford - for the most part - cruised to victory at Jersey Road.
