Tottenham’s chief scout Leonardo Gabbanini has reportedly left the club on Thursday.
According to various outlets in England, the decision arrives as Spurs look to select their new sporting director.
Gabbanini was appointed under former managing director of football Fabio Paratici last July. While he stepped up in the absence of Paratici, he now moves on as Spurs eye a permanent hire for the vacant position.
The 43-year-old chief scout worked closely with manager Ange Postecoglu to plan a significant squad overhaul during the summer transfer window.
Despite losing Harry Kane, Tottenham signed James Maddison, Brennan Johnson, Micky van de Ven and others.
Additionally, Spurs’ new chief football officer, Scott Munn, began his position on Thursday.
According to reports, his main focus is to “swiftly bring in a new technical director to act as a director of football figure” at the club.
