Leicester vs Arsenal: Preview, predictions and lineups

Arsenal are aiming to apply pressure to Premier League leaders Liverpool this Saturday when they visit struggling Leicester City.

The Gunners can move within just four points of the table toppers should they beat Leicester at King Power Stadium, with Liverpool not in action until Sunday when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers. The title still looks improbable for Mikel Arteta's men but they will be keen to push the Reds all the way.

An injury crisis will leave travelling Arsenal supporters feeling trepidatious ahead of their journey to the East Midlands, but the dismal form of their opponents should raise morale.

Leicester are currently sat 18th in the table as they continue to disappoint under Ruud van Nistelrooy. They have won just one of their last ten Premier League duels under the Dutchman - a comeback victory against Arsenal's north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur - and are looking increasingly likely to return to the Championship.

Here is 90min's guide to a crunch clash at either end of the table.

Van Nistelrooy has confirmed that the influential trio of Jamie Vardy, Victor Kristiansen and Jannik Vestergaard have all returned to training this week ahead of Arsenal's visit. All three will be available to feature.

However, the Foxes will still be without Harry Souttar and Ricardo Pereira in defence, while Odsonne Edouard and Abdul Fatawu are missing in the forward line - the latter sidelined for the remainder of the season.

Arsenal were dealt the agonising news that their only remaining centre-forward, Kai Havertz, will be missing for the remainder of the campaign with a hamstring injury. Gabriel Jesus is already out for the season, leaving Arteta incredibly short on options.

Arsenal are still without wingers Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka, too, with the latter reportedly set to miss another two months as part of his planned recovery.

In better news, Arteta has confirmed that long-term absentee Ben White is available, although he made it clear that his workload will be managed closely. Takehiro Tomiyasu is still missing, however, and is still some way off making his comeback.

Arsenal predicted lineup vs Leicester (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Nwaneri, Trossard, Sterling.

Leicester vs Arsenal score prediction

Arsenal have suffered several psychological blows this week following injury updates to key players and their forward unit is incredibly short-handed. Leandro Trossard, Ethan Nwaneri and Raheem Sterling are their only orthodox attackers.

They're unlikely to set pulses racing at the King Power as a result and may have to rely on their stern defence to sneak three points and keep pace with Liverpool.

Leicester will be buoyed by the prospect of catching Arsenal at a low ebb but they have been woefully sub-par in recent months. Even against the depleted Gunners, they are unlikely to avoid defeat.
