Leicester City’s Stephy Mavididi is attracting interest from clubs across Europe following their relegation from the Premier League.

The Foxes endured a miserable campaign last time out, as they finished in the bottom three without putting up much of a fight.

So, they are preparing for life back in the Championship, and it appears they will face a battle to keep Mavididi at the King Power Stadium.

That’s after journalist Pete O’Rourke revealed that clubs in England, Italy and Spain are keen on the winger.

“Leicester face a fight to keep hold of winger Stephy Mavididi this summer with a number of clubs at home and abroad, including Atalanta, Bologna and Villarreal ready to move for the skilful attacker.”

The 27-year-old was outstanding for Leicester during their promotion season under Enzo Maresca, but, like most of his teammates, he found it tough in the Premier League.

However, Mavididi did emerge as one of the better players, and he was looking like their main attacking threat before a muscle injury in April cut his season short.

Leicester City must have summer plans in place

It’s no surprise that Mavididi is attracting interest as he is a good player who is capable of playing at a higher level than the Championship.

Even though he is frustrating at times, the former Montpellier man is a constant threat with his pace and direct style, whilst he is the type of player who excites fans with his skill on the ball.

Clearly, given his contribution previously in the Championship, he would be a big miss, and Leicester need to have plans in place to replace Mavididi should he depart.

There is still uncertainty surrounding the future of Ruud van Nistelrooy, and the threat of a points deduction is hanging over the club going into the new season. As well as that, some sales will be required to balance the books.

So, there are a lot of major decisions looming for the club, and it’s a surprise that they haven’t done more considering relegation was confirmed a long time ago.
