Legendary former Inter Milan President Massimo Moratti feels that Simone Inzaghi “reminds him more and more” of Jose Mourinho.
Moratti gave his thoughts on the two coaches in an interview in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Il Giorno, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi is guiding the Nerazzurri to a memorable end to the season.
On Saturday, Inter will face off against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final. This is the second time in the space of just three seasons that they have done so.
Inter lost out the last time they reached this stage. They fell to a narrow 0-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester City in 2023.
Therefore, for Inzaghi this would represent an opportunity to make up for that disappointment.
And victory on Saturday would also mean that the 49-year-old former Lazio coach would be only the third coach to win the European Cup or Champions League with Inter.
And just the second since the Champions League rebrand.

The last coach to bring Inter to a Champions League final before Inzaghi was Jose Mourinho.
Massimo Moratti was President of the Nerazzurri at that time.
The former President commented that “reaching something like the Champions League final is a source of great pride.”
“Then we can add to that the fact that Inter have gotten this far by eliminating Bayern Munich and Barcelona. That certainly gives it more value and prestige.”
Then, Moratti said that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi “has done very well.”
“His team play good football,” the former President argued. “Even in spite of some losses in the league, he’s brought home great results.”
“Simone is reminding me more and more of Mourinho,” he continued.
“It’s true that they have two different characters. Maybe Inzaghi is calmer.”
“But they both know how to win,” Moratti declared.
“And I like Simone because he knows how to make the team love him,” the former Nerazzurri President added. “And he never stops learning, studying.”
