Leeds United are now facing competition from the Bundesliga for Norwich City’s Josh Sargent, as Wolfsburg are showing interest in the American.
The Elland Road outfit know that they need to recruit smartly as they will be competing with the big boys of the Premier League.
Leeds are trying to ramp up their transfer business and are close to a third signing of the summer.
Jaka Bijol and Lukas Nmecha’s captures have been made official, while centre-back Sebastiaan Bornauw will go through his medical today.
Leeds have been working on improving their frontline, as Nmecha has been added already, but they know they need more firepower.
Lecce striker Nikola Krtovic is a player they have been very keen on, and are waiting for a decision from the Montenegro international.
Norwich City’s star striker Josh Sargent is a player Leeds have shown their interest in, but now they are facing competition for him from a club they know well this summer.
According to German sports magazine Kicker, Wolfsburg are showing ‘strong interest’ in the Norwich City man.
Wolfsburg are a club Leeds know well this summer, having taken Nmecha off their hands – Wolfsburg offered him a new deal to continue – and now having negotiated a deal to sign Bornauw.
Sargent scored 15 times and provided five assists in the recent Championship season and has no shortage of suitors for his signature.
However, they could potentially lose out on one of their targets to them in the shape of Sargent.
The Canaries have Liam Manning as their new boss and it remains to be seen if they will be prepared to let their prolific goalscorer go this summer.
