It doesn't look as though an early-summer move is on the horizon for the Italian.

Numerous Premier League clubs have taken an interest in Willy Gnonto.

That's according to Football Insider, who believe that interested clubs will bide their time and potentially make a move for the winger later on in the summer transfer window, hoping that his price tag comes down by then.

Crysencio Summerville has been the man that has been most heavily linked with a move away from Elland Road in recent weeks, with several top-flight teams thought to be keen on the possibility of luring him away from Elland Road.

However, there are a number of other players who could be offloaded this summer, with the Whites needing to balance the books following their play-off final defeat against Southampton.

They have no shortage of valuable players, with Summerville likely to attract big bids following a very successful 2023/24 campaign and Archie Gray also likely to have a very high valuation considering his age and potential.

Gnonto is another player who could become the subject of big eight-figure bids, having shone for a chunk of last term.

He didn't start last season very well, with the player making himself unavailable for a few games amid high speculation about his future.

The injury he sustained away at Hull City in September didn't help his cause either, but he has shown promise in 2024 and managed to put his past struggles behind him.

Although he was unable to make the difference in last month's play-off final, the 20-year-old may have done enough to put himself in the shop window and that makes him a contender to leave the West Yorkshire side in the coming weeks.

Willy Gnonto may not be set for an imminent Leeds United exit

Gnonto could have a big role to play at Elland Road next term, like he did for much of last season.

He could be an especially important player if Summerville leaves - and the opportunity to become of the Whites' most important players may persuade him to stay put.

However, he isn't in control of his future, with his club having control of that.

The stance of interested sides may also play a part - and it's believed that they are prepared to wait until his price tag potentially comes down later in the window before making a move for the Italian.

Crystal Palace are one team that have recently been linked with a move for the 20-year-old.

Willy Gnonto should focus on Leeds United at this stage

Avoiding a repeat of what happened last summer will be vital for Gnonto if he wants to make a bright start to the 2024/25 campaign.

If he can perform well, it will only be a matter of time before he secures a move away from Elland Road, if they aren't promoted.

With this in mind, the Italian just needs to keep his head down at the moment and perform well.

If he can perform well next term, he could play a big part in taking the Whites back to the top flight, something he will be keen to do as he looks to test himself at the top level again.
