The Whites could be missing a key pair for their trip to Ashton Gate.

Leeds United may be without both Junior Firpo and Largie Ramazani for their game against Bristol City this weekend.

The Whites were able to continue their strong form on Tuesday night when they beat Watford 2-0. Goals from Ramazani and Brenden Aaronson in the fourth and seventh minutes, respectively, helped Leeds to secure back-to-back victories at Elland Road in the space of four days.

Both of their goals could have been prevented had Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann been a bit sharper on the night, but, even still, the home side were certainly the more dominant of the two.

It was by no means the perfect game for Leeds, despite picking up the three points. The aftermath of the match has left Daniel Farke in a position where he may be without two of his starting XI from Tuesday night on Saturday.

Leeds receive potential double blow ahead of Bristol City match

United could be without both Firpo and Ramazani for this weekend's game against the Robins. Firpo picked up his fifth yellow card after just 11 games thanks to a late tackle on the Hornets' solo goalscorer on the night: Kwadwo Baah.

That means that he has picked up a one-game suspension, and will definitely be unavailable for this weekend.

The likely availability of the winger is less clear. Just 10 minutes after scoring his third Championship goal for Leeds, the 23-year-old was forced off the pitch with an ankle injury - the extent of which wasn't fully known after the end of the Watford match.

Luckily for Leeds, they have two strong wingers in Manor Solomon and Dan James who are just returning from injury and should be able to cover for Ramazani if he is forced to be out of action for any extended period of time.

Firpo was left on for the rest of the game, despite being put in the book with just over half an hour to go in the game. The United boss admitted that he was tempted to bring on Sam Byram earlier in the game but, due to cramping, he wanted to wait to use his fifth available substitute.

"We will find a solution to replace Junior Firpo,"said Farke after the game.

Leeds' squad depth issues are rearing their heads

Acquiring Ramazani and other players in the summer like Ao Tanaka has proven to be bits of brilliance from the recruitment team at Thorp Arch. But, even with the solid business they did, they still left themselves a bit light in certain areas.

Two knee injuries to Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev, which will keep them out until after New Year's Day, has left Leeds with only Tanaka and fellow summer signing Joe Rothwell as midfield options.

It's a similar-ish story at the back. There isn't much cover at the moment if any of the starting defenders go down with knocks or get suspended like Firpo has.

In fairness, they are set to address their midfield issues with the addition of free agent Joshua Guilavogui, who Fabrizio Romano has said is set to join the club, but that won't solve all of their problems.

Additions in the January window are going to be needed to make sure this squad can maintain this high level until the end of the campaign.
