Leeds United are hopeful that Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson could be tempted to join them as he would be guaranteed to play every week, according to the Sun.
The club are looking for Premier League experience in the final third following their return to the top flight.
The 33-year-old has emerged as a target after a return of 88 goals and 25 assists in 239 league appearances in the division.
Newcastle have informed Wilson they have decided not to exercise the one-year option in his contract, but negotiations over a new deal are ongoing.
It is slightly more incentive-based as the new offer is on reduced terms and based on appearances.
He could seek to move elsewhere, having become cover for Alexander Isak over the last two seasons. Leeds are offering him an opportunity to play regularly, while Everton are also keen.
The former Bournemouth star will fancy his chances of still producing the goods at this level after bagging 28 goals across the last two seasons.
Joel Piroe led their attack this season, weighing in with 19 goals and seven assists in 46 Championship appearances to help them secure promotion.
However, they need someone who knows what it takes to lead the line in the Premier League to support the Dutchman, and Wilson fits the bill.
He will be available for free if he rejects the contract Newcastle have offered him, and he will receive more money and game time at Leeds if he joins them.
Moving to Everton could be more tempting as they will be playing in a new stadium next season.
