Leeds United have announced the signing of Swedish international Gabriel Gudmundsson, with the defender joining on a four-year deal.
The 26-year-old arrives from French side Lille OSC in a move believed to be worth around £10 million, becoming the Whites’ fourth addition of the summer as Daniel Farke continues to bolster his squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
Gudmundsson makes the switch from the Stade Pierre-Mauroy after a standout season with Les Dogues, racking up 45 appearances in all competitions. That included nine outings in the UEFA Champions League, where he played a key role in helping Lille reach the round of 16 and finish seventh in the league phase.
He follows Sebastiaan Bornauw, Jaka Bijol, and Lukas Nmecha through the door at Elland Road, as Farke’s summer rebuild gathers pace.
