Lebohang Maboe leaves the Sundowns
It's the end of an era for Lebohang Maboe. The South African attacking midfielder is officially parting ways with Mamelodi Sundowns after seven seasons of loyal and outstanding service.
Arriving in 2018, Lebohang Maboe quickly established himself within the squad. Hard-working and consistent, he was present in almost every battle. In total, he played 183 matches in the Brazilians’ colors, etching his name into the club's history books. His time at Sundowns was also defined by collective success. With twelve trophies—including several league titles—Maboe stands as one of the club's most decorated players of the past decade.
The announcement of his departure was made via Mamelodi Sundowns' social media. No details have yet emerged about his next destination. But at 30 years old, Lebohang Maboe clearly still has plenty of football left in him. As he turns the page on his Sundowns chapter, he carries with him experience and a relentless hunger to win.
