Leandro Trossard admitted he was relieved by Arsenal's late win over Leicester City on Saturday after helping the Gunners secure their fourth Premier League victory of the season.

The Belgian had put the title hopefuls 2-0 up shortly before half-time after Gabriel Martinelli's strike had given them the lead, but full-back James Justin's brace looked to have earned a Foxes a surprising point at the Emirates Stadium.

However, another Trossard effort deflected off Wilfred Ndidi to put Arsenal ahead again in the 94th minute before Kai Havertz wrapped up the 4-2 success. The three points helped them go level with Manchester City, who had drawn with Newcastle United earlier on Saturday, but it's Liverpool who are top having beaten Wolves in the evening kick-off.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion winger, who was sent off in the 2-2 draw with City last week, praised his team at full-time for their persistence in eventually getting over the line.

He said: "It was just relief! I had some good opportunities and when the ball doesn't go in, you need to keep believing and believing. It was great that the ball went in and gave us the lead again.

"Credit to the boys, everyone kept believing going forward and pushing to create chances. That's what we need - if it doesn't go your way at that point, you need to keep pushing and that's what we did. In the end, the luck was on our side.

"Overall, I think we played a very good game to go 2-0 up at half-time and then the goals we conceded today, they were a bit too easy. It shows how you need to push for the other goals - we had some great chances, and their goalkeeper made some great saves as well but it's nice to get those two goals at the end to get the win.

"I'm buzzing! It's great that we won the game today and it’s another three points - we've now got a big game on Tuesday."

That fixture next week is a huge one as Arsenal host Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, having drawn their first European outing at Atalanta earlier in September.
