Los Angeles Football Club is already eliminated from contention at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, but they'll try for a consolation victory -- and some additional prize money -- when they face Brazilian giants Flamengo on Tuesday night in Orlando.

Of the three MLS sides competing in the tournament, LAFC became the first eliminated after its 1-0 defeat to ES Tunis on Friday.

Meanwhile, Flamengo has already advanced and secured the top spot in the group after opening the tournament with a win over the African side, then following that with a 3-1 upset victory over Chelsea.

Here's everything you know about Tuesday night's clash.

LAFC vs. Flamengo projected lineups

The Black-and-Gold already know they're heading back to MLS play after this fixture, with an intriguing home meeting with the Vancouver Whitecaps set for Sunday night. But they also know there's still up to $2 million on the line in prize money, as well as the need to gain some positive momentum following their loss to Tunis as sizable favorites.

So manager Steve Cherundolo will probably strike a balance between managing the workload for some players and still trying to earn a positive result, rather than throwing out a completely provisional lineup.

Meanwhile, Palmeiras will have less than four full days between games as they already know they'll face Botafogo in a noon kickoff on Saturday. Theoretically, they're probably the more likely side to send out a second-choice squad.

Manager Felipe Luis may also wish I stay away from his four players carrying yellow cards into the final group match: Erick Pulgar, Gerson, Gonzalo Plata and Bruno Enrique

LAFC vs. Flamengo prediction

This is the rare scenario where the team that is eliminated arguably has more to play for. And the match may play out as such.

The Black-and-Gold may feel no small level of frustration from their tournament exit, exacerbated by Denis Bouanga's potential game-tying penalty miss in the dying stages of their defeat to ES Tunis. And the fact that Flamengo will be expected to hold the majority of possession may work in favor of Cherundolo's squad.
