The Catalan derby has proven one of the most bitter, ill-tempered and entertaining clashes in Spanish football over recent years, and with the potential implications in the title race this season, it will be an electric atmosphere again at the RCDE Stadium.
Espanyol will be hoping their place in La Liga is more or less rubber-stamped by the time Barcelona arrive, with just two more games remaining after it.

They will fear Barcelona could be in a celebratory mood though, just two seasons after they celebrated the title against Espanyol, followed by a pitch invasion from the home crowd. If Barcelona stay perfect, they could potentially win the title against Espanyol depending on Real Madrid’s results, and if Los Blancos do not beat Celta Vigo at home, and lose the Clasico just four days prior to the Catalan derby, then Los Pericos may have to give them a guard of honour.
On the flipside, if Barcelona have been dropping points on the way to the Catalan derby, they will have the chance to strike an enormous blow in the title hopes of their rivals. It is set up to be a sizzling occasion.
For those keen to attend, Espanyol still have some tickets on their website at the time of writing, which is one avenue to getting to the game. Unfortunately for those of a Blaugrana persuasion, Barcelona are only selling their tickets to members for the away section. Alternatively, fans can look into third-party ticket websites, such as LiveFootballTickets.com, Viagogo or FootballTicket.net.
Some of the advantages of sites like LiveFootballTickets.com are the extra service that consumers receive. For example, they will provide a 150% money-back guarantee, a dedicated customer service line available around the clock, and service in multiple languages. Particularly for midweek games, as is the case for the Catalan derby, this can be a weight off for fans traveling to the game.
