After starting the season with quite a thin midfield, Hansi Flick has now a surplus of options for the centre of the pitch. As things stand, Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, Gavi, Dani Olmo, Fermin Lopez, Marc Casado, and Pablo Torre are all competing for minutes in the three midfield spots at FC Barcelona.

In such a scenario, the player who is struggling the most to maintain his prominence from the initial phase of the season is Pablo Torre.

The Spaniard has 9 appearances to his name at this point in the season and has contributed well with 3 goals and 1 assist, but he still remains the player with the lowest number of minutes on the pitch this season and he has not played a single minute in the last five games.

Despite this lack of prominence, Torre is keen to remain at Barcelona till the end of the season, and he is confident that opportunities will arrive in January when the Catalans begin their Copa del Rey campaign.

Meanwhile, some clubs are also closely monitoring this situation at the Blaugrana club and assessing whether they can end up signing him in January.

According to Mundo Deportivo, one such that is closely monitoring the midfielder is Getafe, who are looking for reinforcements to improve their standings in the La Liga table, as they are currently placed 17th, only one spot ahead of the relegation zone. They can offer a lot of minutes to Torre, which he needs to continue growing as a footballer.

However, for now, it is not known whether the Madrid side is looking to get the Barcelona midfielder on loan or permanently. The first option would allow the Catalans to remain in control of a player who can grow significantly with regular play time, while the second option will allow them to get some immediate cash that they need to return to the 1:1 rule.
