Southampton right-back Kyle Walker-Peters has made a decision on his future.
That is according to Sky Sports, which has reported that Galatasaray are interested in the former Tottenham Hotspur defender.
The Turkish Super Lig club have made a bid for Walker-Peters. Sky Sports have reported that Galatasaray are willing to offer £8 million for the 27-year-old Englishman.
Walker-Peters, though, prefers to stay at Southampton for the rest of the season and see out his contract to a move to Galatasaray in the January transfer window.
The former Tottenham player is out of contract at Southampton at the end of the season. Everton have also been linked with Walker-Peters.
For Southampton, it would make sense to cash in on Walker-Peters now and get a decent transfer fee.
The Saints are rooted to the foot of the Premier League table and have picked up just six points from 23 matches.
Barring a miracle, Southampton are going to get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
From a business point of view, selling Walker-Peters for £8 million now would give Southampton money to spend in the summer of 2025.
Walker-Peters is not going to sign a new deal, so losing him on a free at the end of the season does not make sense for Southampton.
However, for the former Spurs player, the best decision would be to see out of his contract at Southampton and then look at his options.
Walker-Peters has done well in the Premier League over the years and is at the top of his game at the age of 27.
The Englishman will get offers in the summer of 2025, especially as a free agent.
There is no need for Walker-Peters to rush into making a decision on his future now.
