Red Star midfielder Rade Krunic feels that his side were unlucky not to get something after a positive performance against AC Milan.
Krunic left Milan at the start of January to join Fenerbahce and then he departed the Istanbul club a few months later, heading to Red Star where he has become a key part of the team despite some more recent injury issues.
Last night marked a return to San Siro for the Bosnian to face his old side having already been back to play Inter a few weeks prior. Before the game, he spoke about why he decided to leave, mentioning Paolo Maldini’s departure.
Krunic started the game for the Serbian champions and put in a decent performance too as the midfield anchorman. However, his side came away with nothing as they lost 2-1, and he spoke to UEFA after the game with his comments relayed by MilanNews.
“It’s a big disappointment. We gave everything we had against very strong opponents. We also played well here against Inter, we played a good game here at San Siro, even though we made more mistakes [in the 4-0 defeat on 1 October]. We did our best and we leave the stadium with our heads held high.”
