Despite scoring three goals on Saturday, Borussia Mönchengladbach’s losing streak stretched to three games, as they fell to a 4-3 defeat against relegation-threatened Holstein Kiel.
Gladbach striker Tim Kleindienst was far from pleased after the final whistle.
"We always make life difficult for ourselves," Kleindienst complained in an interview with Sky following the defeat.
"There were too many individual mistakes in the first half. We're constantly playing from behind, with our backs against the wall. Only then do we show what we're capable of. It’s frustrating when we always have to fall behind first to finally get going," the national striker added, clearly frustrated.
The result means Gladbach are now winless in four matches, having lost their last three.
"You can see that we’re capable of scoring three goals in this league, but you have to be able to score as many as we’re conceding right now. You just can’t concede four goals in Kiel, that’s not our standard. It's really frustrating," Kleindienst said.
The recent slump has seriously dented Die Fohlen's European hopes, adding to Kleindienst's mounting frustration.
"I'm really pissed off, I feel like I could explode. We've lost another game, and maybe even deservedly so. If we keep playing like this, we won’t be picking up many more points."
Die Fohlen sit ninth with three games left to play this season.
