Manchester United midfield target Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is reportedly only interested in a move to Chelsea if he were to leave Leicester City this summer.

The middle of the park is an area of the pitch that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are keen on reinforcing. Casemiro and Christian Eriksen are looking increasingly to be on their way out of United and if their exits materialise, the duo will certainly need to be replaced.

Casemiro continues to be strongly linked with a transfer to the Saudi Pro League while Eriksen has been mentioned to be on the radar of outfits like Galatasaray and his former club Ajax.

Some of the players United are believed to be in for include Amadou Onana (Everton), Joao Neves (Benfica), Morten Hjulman (Sporting Lisbon), Adrien Rabiot (Juventus), Manuel Ugarte (Paris Saint-Germain) and of course, Dewsbury-Hall, just to mention a few names.

Back in March, it was revealed that United wanted Dewsbury-Hall in an effort to bolster the creative output in the squad.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a fantastic 2023/24 season in the Championship that saw him register an impressive 12 goals and 14 assists in 44 appearances. He was one of the main men as Leicester secured promotion to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

It was stated that a fee of around £25million could be enough to seal the deal for the player.

A subsequent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Dewsbury-Hall had no interest in departing the King Power Stadium but according to the reliable David Ornstein, it seems like the player has had a change of heart regarding a potential summer transfer.

As per The Athletic journalist, Chelsea have taken a drastic step towards securing the United target’s services.

“Chelsea have contacted Leicester City to express an interest in signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.”

“No formal offer has been made yet but the 25-year-old is believed to be keen only on a move to Stamford Bridge if he is to leave his boyhood club.”

“Dewsbury-Hall is seen as a perfect fit for the style of football Chelsea want to play under new head coach Enzo Maresca, who replaced Mauricio Pochettino in charge earlier this summer.”

“The pair worked together at Leicester as they secured promotion to the Premier League as winners of the Championship last season.”

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea’s interest in Dewsbury-Hall prompts United into making a concrete move for the player, who has made no secret of his love and admiration for one of the club’s greatest-ever players, Paul Scholes.
