Kieran Tierney will miss Scotland game against Lichtenstein after picking up a knock. The left back started in the disappointing 3-1 defeat against Iceland on Friday; however, the incoming Celtic star will not feature in the second friendly.
Steve Clarke confirmed that two of Scotland’s stars – Tierney and Scott McTominay – would miss the game with knocks. The update comes after KT made his 50th appearance for Scotland.
Celtic will re-sign the 27-year-old having agreed a pre-contract. Tierney’s announcement is eagerly awaited by the Celtic support given his emotional connection to the club. Everton, Bayer Leverkusen, Seville and Juventus were all interested in signing the player but the draw to a fairytale return to Paradise proved to be difficult for Tierney to resist.
Hopefully the knock is nothing more than a slight issue from the game on Friday, which Clarke alluded to. The anticipation will be that Tierney can take Celtic forward in Europe.
Elsewhere, Celtic are expected to return to the transfer market with a full back required as Greg Taylor looks set to make a lucrative switch to Greece. PAOK have offered the player a two-year deal with the option of a third, which will see the Scotland Internationalist take home a sizeable salary.
