France have confirmed Khéphren Thuram has been called up to the men’s senior squad to replace the injured Eduardo Camavinga for their European Championship qualifiers with Gibraltar and Greece.
The Real Madrid star has been ruled out of the two games with a knee sprain. It remains unclear how serious the injury but he is set for a scan upon his return to Madrid.
His absence gives Thuram the opportunity to add to his one cap, and the Nice midfielder joins his older brother Marcus in the squad – both, of course, are the sons of French World Cup-winning legend Lillian.
Les Bleus have already qualified for next summer’s tournament as group winners and will be looking to continue to build momentum as they look to land a third European crown in Germany.
