Key Real Sociedad star left out of squad for Anderlecht clash | OneFootball

A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga outfit Real Sociedad has been omitted from the club’s squad to face Anderlecht.

La Real are for their part primed to return to action on Thursday evening.

Fresh off a morale-boosting 3-0 downing of Valencia at the weekend, Imanol’s troops will turn their attentions towards matters on the continent, in a Europa League meeting with Belgian giants Anderlecht.

As alluded to above, though, in efforts to secure a first victory of the club’s European campaign, Sociedad will not be able to call upon a key defensive figure.

This comes with Igor Zubeldia having been omitted from the club’s latest matchday squad.

As per an ensuing report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘The decision was technical, so Imanol will give the Azkoitia native a rest, who had been playing as many minutes as possible since the last break.’

Urko and Magunazelaia, meanwhile, have also been left out for Thursday, whilst Traoré and Zakharyan remain unavailable for selection through injury.
