Key Barcelona star is now technically a free agent | OneFootball

A member of the goalkeeper ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona is now officially out of contract with the club.

The player in question? Wojciech Szczęsny.

Shot-stopper Szczęsny is of course fresh off a season which saw him play a pivotal role for Barcelona, en route to the club clinching a domestic treble.

After being brought in as an emergency option following the long-term injury suffered by Marc-André ter Stegen, the Pole quickly usurped Iñaki Peña, on his way to 30 appearances across all competitions.

And yet, the fact remains that Szczęsny only signed with Barcelona through the close of the campaign.

As of today, July 1st, the former Arsenal and Juventus man’s contract terms have therefore expired.

Those of a Blaugrana persuasion eager for Szczęsny to stay put, though, neet not fret, amid confirmation on the part of Mundo Deportivo that an agreement is in place for the 35-year-old to sign an extension through the summer of 2027.
