Sacha Tavolieri has revealed that, should Kevin De Bruyne leave Manchester City, he would prefer to cross the Atlantic to join the MLS than end up in the Saudi Pro League. As a result, San Diego FC have reportedly made a concrete offer to the midfielder that would see his current salary with City matched in the MLS. One of the key reasons behind the preference for a move to the MLS instead of the Saudi Pro League is that De Bruyne and his wife prefer to raise their family in America than Saudi Arabia.

The 33-year-old Belgian captain will see his contract expire at the end of the 2024/2025 season. De Bruyne has been with City since 2015 when he signed from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg. He has gone on to make 388 appearances for the club, scoring an incredible 103 goals and providing 171 assists. Barring injury, he should certainly surpass 400 appearances for City before a likely departure next summer.
