Kevin De Bruyne says the 2023/24 Premier League title win is one he will look back fondly on because he had to battle back from injury to play a starring role.

De Bruyne was out for almost five months after his season got off to the worst possible start in August when a hamstring injury led to his substitution in the first half of our Premier League opener with Burnley.

However, after undergoing surgery and extensive rehabilitation, our No.17 returned to the pitch in January and showed his class in the remaining months to help us achieve four-in-a-row, an achievement not seen before in English top-flight history.

“It feels as amazing as the first one, we’ve worked so hard, it’s been a tough battle with Arsenal and Liverpool this year, and to be here again, doing something historic is amazing,” said our playmaker.

“For me, this is one of my most special titles.

“I had a tough year being out, but to come back in the way that I did to help the team win and to be at a good level is a great achievement for me this season personally.”

De Bruyne also lifted the lid on the atmosphere in camp, an ethos that has carried City to six titles in seven seasons under Pep Guardiola.

“The manager sets the standards, but this team enjoys playing with each other,” KDB added.

“It’s not a team with big egos, it’s a team who enjoy playing around with each other and having fun, like today, we ran like crazy because we want to perform well.”
