Mattia Perin appears on track to leave Juventus this summer in search of a starting role elsewhere, with clubs such as Bologna and Como showing interest in the 31-year-old, according to Spazio J. Perin, who is currently sidelined by injury, has grown dissatisfied with his limited opportunities—he made just nine appearances last season despite Juventus' congested fixture list. Now, after several years serving as a reliable backup, he is weighing up offers that could provide the platform for a late-career resurgence as a number one.
With Perin likely to depart, Juventus are surveying their options for a new deputy to Michele Di Gregorio. The club is focusing on three main candidates from Serie A. At the top of the list is Elia Caprile, whose performances at Cagliari have caught the attention of the Juventus scouting staff. The 23-year-old recently joined Cagliari permanently from Napoli after a loan spell, but Cagliari are reportedly open to letting him go if a bid of around €15 million is made. While Caprile is seen as the preferred choice, the asking price is significant, especially with Di Gregorio already established as first-choice.
Should the move for Caprile prove too expensive, Juventus are also evaluating Emil Audero and Lorenzo Montipò. Audero, currently with Como, spent the latter part of last season on loan at Palermo. He is no stranger to Juventus fans, having come through the club’s youth setup and debuting for the first team during the 2016/17 campaign. His familiarity with the club’s environment makes him an appealing, lower-risk choice if Juventus opts for continuity over a fresh start in the goalkeeping department.
Montipò, on the other hand, has been a consistent presence for Hellas Verona but is believed to be lower on Juventus' list of preferences. Torino is also reportedly interested in him, which could complicate any approach from the Bianconeri.
With Juventus weighing up technical ability and cost, their decision on Perin’s successor remains open. The club’s next move will depend both on Perin finalizing his own future and on the financial feasibility of the shortlisted options. For now, the goalkeeper situation stays fluid, but movement is expected once further clarity emerges regarding Perin's departure.
