Juventus reach agreement over new deal with Andrea Cambiaso after Man United approach | OneFootball

Juventus have reportedly reached an agreement with their defender Andrea Cambiaso over a new contract soon after Manchester United approached his representatives to explore the possibility of getting a transfer over the line.

It’s believed that the left-back position is an area of the pitch United are keen to strengthen, especially after their struggles this season.

Luke Shaw has endured an injury-riddled campaign that has seen him make only 12 appearances in the Premier League. He has played just 15 games across all competitions.

Meanwhile, his deputy Tyrell Malacia has not tasted even a single minute of action owing to a physical setback he picked up during pre-season.

Erik ten Hag has often been forced to be creative in his efforts to fill up the vacuum left by Shaw and Malacia’s prolonged absences. The likes of Diogo Dalot, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Sofyan Amrabat and Victor Lindelof have all temporarily assumed that role.

Alongside Cambiaso, United have been linked to other left-backs such as Melvin Bard, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Juan Miranda.

A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that the Red Devils approached Cambiasio’s entourage to declare their interest in the 24-year-old.

It was stated that Juve want to keep the Genoa-born footballer as they consider him a key part of their plans going forward.

In an update provided by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, The Old Lady have now made a big move to ward off United and have offered Cambiaso a new long-term to secure his future in Turin.

Romano wrote on X (formerly Twitter), ” Juventus have now reached full agreement to extend Andrea Cambiaso’s contract.”

“New long-term deal will be valid until June 2029 with salary increase included for the fullback who’s also highly rated by Thiago Motta.”

“Done deal.”

It’s certainly safe to say that Cambiaso is now out of reach for United, who must look elsewhere.
