Juventus are reported to have entered talks with Manchester United over a possible deal for out of favour winger Jadon Sancho before the transfer window closes.

Sancho was reintegrated to the United squad during pre-season following last year’s very public falling out with manager Erik ten Hag. He featured during the summer tour and was a substitute who later took a penalty in the Community Shield shootout, but the 24-year-old was then absent from the matchday squad when United faced Fulham in their Premier League opener last Friday night.

With Ten Hag seeming to favour Amad Diallo on the right, with Marcus Rashford on the left, and Alejandro Garnacho still a major force as well, Sancho’s potential opportunities appears limited.

Even after the hatchet between Ten Hag and Sancho was buried, the club's stance has remained that the player is available for transfer. The Athletic writes that Juventus have "stepped up" contact now that the summer deadline is nearing and are seen as Sancho's "likeliest destination" if he does leave.

However, a "financial agreement that satisfies all parties" may not come easily.

United's asking price for Sancho is believed to be £40m and hasn't been met all summer. Juventus, who have undergone a change of manager since Massimiliano Allegri was resistant to signing the player in January, are tipped to make a loan offer that would see them contribute to his wages.

According to i, United's stance on selling Sancho has softened, having previously only been interested in a permanent transfer.

Juventus may also struggle to put together a financial package for Sancho if they successfully land priority targets Nico Gonzalez from Fiorentina and Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta. Those two players could cost a total of €90m (£76m) if asking prices are met.

It puts additional pressure on the Turin giants to push ahead with their efforts to offload Federico Chiesa. Interest from the Premier League has not progressed, with Barcelona, AC Milan and Inter the most plausible destinations for the Euro 2020 winner.
