Antonio Conte will return to Turin tomorrow, facing his former fans at the Allianz Stadium for the first time, but according to Tuttosport, he may not be booed by the whole Juventus crowd.
Conte, a former Juventus midfielder and coach, will visit the Bianconeri at the Allianz Stadium tomorrow and, for the first time ever, he will face his ex-fans.
The Italian tactician already visited the Allianz Stadium as an Inter coach, but all three games were played behind closed doors during the COVID pandemic in 2020 and 2021.
As reported by Tuttosport, ultras in Curva Sud will surely give Conte a hostile reception, but ordinary fans’ reactions may be different.
Conte already reunited with Juventus fans a year ago during a match between club legends to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Agnelli family’s reign at the club.
On that occasion, he was welcomed by a round of applause, but ultras were not among the crowd. It will be different this time, although Conte has done his best to play down controversy since joining Napoli last summer.
Back in July, he refused to join an anti-Juventus chant. “Do not ask me for things I will not do. Let me clear this up once and for all,” he told Napoli fans then.
During a pre-match press conference on Thursday, the former midfielder insisted that he’s “part of Juve’s history because of what I have done and given them.”
