Juventus fans cheered Dusan Vlahovic up by shouting his name after the Serbia international missed a chance to score in the second half against PSV Eindhoven.
Serie A giants Juventus won 3-1 over PSV Eindhoven in their 2024-25 Champions League debut on Tuesday. Football Italia was among the accredited media at the Allianz Stadium.
Vlahovic delivered an assist for Nico Gonzalez but failed to find the net for the third consecutive match across all competitions.
The ex-Fiorentina striker wasted a good chance, all alone in front of the PSV keeper, in the second half, but Juventus fans continued encouraging him.
Ultras in Curva Sud and ordinary fans in other sectors in the stadium started shouting ‘Dusan, Dusan’ while the Serbia international was visibly upset about the missed opportunity.
The 24-year-old has scored two goals in five appearances across all competitions this season, but both his goals came in a 3-0 win over Hellas Verona on Serie A Round 2.
Juventus boss Motta didn’t seem concerned about Vlahovic’s goal draught during a post-match press conference.
“He didn’t score today, and strikers always want to score,” said the Bianconeri boss.
“They must have this ambition. He did well in many other things. We can do even more, but I am happy with his work. He must manage the emotional side, thinking there are many things to do on the pitch. Goals will come. The important thing is that he’s involved in the group, giving his best.”
