Reports in Italy claim that Juventus are considering offering a coaching role to legendary former defender and club captain Leonardo Bonucci after a meeting between him and his old friend and colleague Giorgio Chiellini, who is also in line for a new role at the Allianz Stadium.
According to reports from Tuttosport and Calciomercato.com, Juventus are considering the option of appointing Bonucci to a coaching role within the club, potentially as a youth team coach, or even potentially in the first-team set-up depending on the team’s next permanent head coach.
Friday’s reports claim that a Juventus return for Bonucci was discussed when he met Chiellini for dinner along with sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli in Rome earlier this week.
Tuttosport claims that a coaching role for Bonucci at Continassa is an ‘increasing possibility’.
Bonucci has been studying for various coaching badges since hanging up his boots at the end of the 2023-24 campaign, and has been working as the assistant coach for the Italy U20 side under Bernardo Corrardi since October.
Chiellini is also in line for a new role within the Bianconeri set-up.
Earlier this week, it was reported that director Francesco Calvo had resigned and is set to take over as CEO of Premier League side Aston Villa.
Chiellini, who returned to the club as Head of Football Institutional Relations is likely to take over some of Calvo’s duties with the FIGC and ECA, and it is believed that he will be offered a new role with a new title in the future.
