Juventus CEO Maurizio Scanavino confirms Francesco Calvo wants a ‘new professional challenge‘ and insists the club ‘absolutely’ trusts Cristiano Giuntoli.
Calvo is set to leave Juventus at the end of the season to become the new Aston Villa CEO.
Juventus have not yet confirmed the 46-year-old’s exit, but Scanavino confirmed on Tuesday night that Calvo wants to leave.
“We’ve been talking about his future for some time now. He has expressed his desire to take on new professional challenges,” Scanavino told Sky Sport and SportMediaset via Gazzetta.
“We’ve scheduled a meeting to define the next steps and allow him to conclude some important commercial and institutional commitments.”

Several sources have reported that CFO Giuntoli is under scrutiny and could pay a high price if the Bianconeri fail to qualify for the Champions League.
However, Scanavino showed complete trust in the club director.
“When the squad is complete, it’s very strong. For the future, we’ll start with this core group of players, who are also quite young,” he said.
“We will make targeted additions. Cristiano [Giuntoli] has been working on this for some time, and we are planning future scenarios together.”
Reporters asked again if Juventus and Giuntoli will plan the future together. “Absolutely yes,” Scanavino reiterated.
The club CEO also confirmed that Igor Tudor’s future would be decided in July after the Club World Cup.
The Croatian tactician replaced the sacked Thiago Motta this past March.
“Tudor has had a very positive impact. He’s doing a good job in a critical moment with a limited squad,” Scanavino concluded.
“We’ve been clear from the beginning. We will definitely do the [Club] World Cup together, and then we’ll decide how to move forward. For now, we are very happy.”
Juventus sit fourth in the Serie A table, level on 64 points with Lazio.
Their next and final two games of the season are against Udinese at home and Venezia away.
