Justin Kluivert became the first player to ever score three penalties in a single Premier League game on Saturday.

The Bournemouth attacker converted from the spot just two minutes after kickoff and scored another in the 18th minute. He went on to find the net from 12 yards out yet again when he stepped up to take a second-half penalty.

“That sounds beautiful. To go in the history books, that’s amazing, super happy with it,” Kluivert told Premier League Productions after the final whistle.

“I train them [the penalties]. We have a great keeper with Kepa. We try some stuff, the first one I stop, and look at the keeper, what is he doing? I switch it up for the second one. Then the third, he doesn’t know what I’m going to do. I waited and he chose for me. Easy as that.

“We have shown we can beat a lot of teams in this league. I am happy.”

Asked where he will put the match ball following his hat-trick, the Dutchman said: “I will put it in my daughter’s room, waiting for her to come in February. And she can see how I did it.”

Jorgen Strand Larsen scored for Wolves and Milos Kerkez put Bournemouth back in front in between Kluivert’s first two penalties in what was a manic start to the game at Molineux. Strand Larsen struck again in the second half but the Cherries ultimately won 4-2.

Kluivert joked afterwards that teammate Kerkez’s recent good form is due to him cutting his hair recently.

“Yes, I’ve been cutting his hair and since then he has been contributing to goals. I am going to up my price a little bit,” he said.
