Jadon Sancho is demanding that he be paid off by Manchester United in order to complete his desired move to Juventus.

A transfer is on the cusp of being finalised after both United and the Serie A outfit agreed a package worth £21.5 million upfront, plus added bonuses, with the Reds green-lighting their £73m acquisition’s switch to Serie A.

Sancho had garnered interest from both Napoli and Fenerbahce, though neither side went as far as submitting a formal offer like Juventus have. It’s thought his extortionate wage demands deterred them from pursuing a deal.

Now, Sport Witness has relayed reports from Italy that claim the 25-year-old is requesting a £4.3m severance pact to terminate his contract, due to run until 2026, prematurely.

With United already navigating a precarious financial situation in the aftermath of their 15th-placed league finish and Europa League final defeat, it’s near impossible they will grant such ludicrous demands.

Sancho will play no part in Ruben Amorim’s plans irrespective of whether he stays or goes, and is likely to just continue being exiled if he does not depart Old Trafford before the window closes.

Sancho among outcast United contingent

Last week, it was revealed that Sancho was among a quintet of Reds who had informed the board of their desire to leave the club this summer, along with Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Tyrell Malacia.

United then pushed back the players’ pre-season return dates to late July – as opposed to Monday like the rest of the squad – to allow them to explore their options.

As such, it came as a surprise for the M16 faithful when it was confirmed on Thursday evening that Garnacho had now been granted permission to train with his teammates, prompting speculation over whether he could well stay at the club after all.
