Jurgen Klopp will say his goodbyes to Liverpool this weekend as the German takes charge of the Reds for the final time.

Wolves are the visitors to Anfield on the Premier League’s final day, in a fixture that will see a Liverpool legend celebrated by the home crowd. Ahead of the game, Klopp has revealed some of his favourite memories with the Merseysiders, including his favourite goal, game and more.

Best Performance – Liverpool 4-0 Barcelona (2019)

Perhaps the game that will forever be associated with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool. The Reds faced an almost impossible task in the 2018/19 Champions League semi-finals, having been beaten 3-0 at Barcelona in the first leg of their tie.

With Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino sidelined for the return, few entered the game with genuine optimism of progress. Salah arrived at Anfield wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with ‘Never Give Up’ and the absent Egyptian’s teammates certainly took note.

Divock Origi opened the scoring inside seven minutes but Liverpool still had a huge task as the half-time whistle blew. The tie was transformed, however, through two quick-fire goals from Georgino Wijnaldum. On as a substitute, Wijnaldum arrived into the box to convert from Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cross on 54 minutes before rising to head home the aggregate equaliser just two minutes later.

Momentum with Liverpool and the Spaniards shell-shocked, a quickly-taken corner from Alexander-Arnold picked out Origi to convert the winner and seal one of the most famous wins in Champions League history.

Best Goal – Alisson Becker vs West Brom (2021)

Having ended a 30-year wait for the Premier League title the previous season, the 2020/21 campaign proved one of struggle for Liverpool. A nightmare run of results had left Liverpool facing an uphill task to secure Champions League qualification, heading into a late-season clash with West Brom at The Hawthorns.

Mohamed Salah had cancelled out Hal Robson-Kanu’s opener but only a win would do for Liverpool in their top-four bid.

As the game entered stoppage time, up went Alisson for a Liverpool set-piece. The Brazilian international powered home a header from Trent Alexander-Arnold’s corner, becoming the first-ever goalkeeper to score a header – and winning goal – in the Premier League.

Klopp handed an honourable mention to Sadio Mane for this audacious goal against Watford, as the Senegalese forward executed a brilliant backheel.

Best Assist – Trent Alexander-Arnold vs Barcelona (2019)

The fourth and final goal in that aforementioned comeback against Barcelona came through Divock Origi, though it is Trent Alexander-Arnold who will forever be associated with the winner.

Having spotted the Spaniards sleeping at a set-piece, the right-back whipped in an early delivery to catch Barcelona off guard and secure Liverpool’s place in the Champions League final.

Best Save – Alisson Becker vs Napoli

Alisson Becker will be remembered as one of the transformative signings of Klopp’s reign and the outgoing Liverpool boss cited the Brazilian’s big save against Napoli as his favourite.

Alisson made a spectacular stop from Arkadiusz Milik late on to help Liverpool to a 1-0 win at Anfield, a result which secured progress to the Champions League’s knockout rounds. The Reds went on to win the competition.
