Corriere dello Sport editor Ivan Zazzaroni insists that Fabio Paratici’s Milan contract was ‘ready’ but the Rossoneri received ‘strong pressure also on a federal level’ to drop the ex-Juventus director.
Paratici had reached a verbal agreement with Milan to become their new sporting director in 2025-26, but the deal collapsed due to legal matters.
The Rossoneri have restarted the search for a new sporting director, with Atalanta’s Tony D’Amico seen as the leading candidate.

Italian journalist Zazzaroni said the Rossoneri and Paratici were ready to sign the contract, but the Serie A giants received strong pressure to abandon the deal.
“Paratici’s contract was ready. He had it in his hands, but there was strong pressure, even on a federal level. I want to say this very clearly,” Zazzaroni told Sport Mediaset via Calciomercato.com.
“Paratici must not return to Italy, but I don’t understand why,” Zazzaroni continued.
“Surely, he made errors, he was punished, and the ban ends on July 20. One who has been suspended can no longer work in Italy. They should just add a note and state it very clearly.”
Paratici is still serving a 30-month ban, and his suspension will end on July 20.
This means that until that date, he can’t actively work on transfers, being prevented from talking to agents and other sports directors and carrying out activities during matchdays.
