Despite beating the United States to the services of hot commodity Jesse Marsch for the head coach position, Marsch is seemingly still getting used to life at the helm of a national team short on resources.

Speaking in an interview this week, the former Leeds and RB Leipzig boss revealed that he had hoped to do a January international camp with his players, similar to the ones that CONCACAF rivals Mexico and the United States put on, but the Canadian national team could simply not afford it.

"The stark reality is just financially we are not in a position as a federation to support a January camp yet," he said.

Marsch did reveal that he is hopeful his wishes can be granted in January of 2026, but those hopes will hinge on the financial situation being turned around in the next 12 months.
