Jackson and Palmer could feast after Maresca gets two weeks to tinker

The international break is only halfway done – but we’re already getting excited about next week’s Chelsea games and the ones to come.

A new manage always needs time to get his ideas across, and an intense, detail oriented operator like Enzo Maresca probably benefits more than most from extra time to work during the early stages of his tenure at a club. So while many players have been away, we’re looking on the bright side and hoping that the coach has used the fortnight to keep tweaking things.

He’s said himself that he thinks we’re ahead of where he expected. In an interesting Sky Sports interview he also revealed the crazy amount of preparation he does for each game.

If both those things are true, Chelsea fans can hope for more improvements when they next see their team line up. Leicester away is a tricky one, especially in the early kick off slot after the international break, but there’s plenty of opportunity for Maresca’s team to strut their stuff against the struggling Foxes.

Chelsea attackers must take the burden and find scoring form again

What needs to happen is a Nicolas Jackson big day out. He’s been excellent this season, but was quiet both against Man U and Arsenal in our last two league games. He and Cole Palmer (if the attacker shakes off his small injury) should be fired up and ready to get back to scoring and assisting against Steve Cooper’s team.

Pedro Neto looks to be firing on all cylinders, Noni Madueke looked good for England – there’s no reason we can’t score 3 or 4 on Saturday, which should be enough to make up for a weakened midfield and defence.
