Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij are both vying to start in tomorrow’s Serie A clash between Juventus and Inter Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that it has been the Italian who’s trained for the role.
Inter take on Juventus in Serie A tomorrow evening.
And it will be a massive match for the Nerazzurri.
Derby d’Italia clashes with Juventus always have a particular flavour. The pressure is higher against bitter rivals, and it is an unpredictable fixture.
Moreover, Inter will feel that they cannot slip up in a title race that sees them virtually neck-and-neck with Napoli.
Mostly, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi knows exactly who will start tomorrow.
There is some doubt regarding the fitness of striker Marcus Thuram.

But there is one position in which the Nerazzurri coach has yet to make up his mind, and the doubt is for non-fitness reasons.
Defender Francesco Acerbi made his return from injury against Fiorentina on Monday.
And despite having been out for nearly three months, the 37-year-old made a seamless return to the pitch. He saw out the ninety minutes and put in an impeccable display marshalling Inter’s penalty area and Viola striker Moise Kean.
Therefore, Acerbi is certainly in a strong position to start against Juventus tomorrow.
However, on the other hand, Stefan de Vrij has also been putting in strong displays in recent weeks.
The Dutchman has made sure that Inter did not miss Acerbi while the Italian was out.
Therefore, Both Acerbi and de Vrij would be candidates to start tomorrow. However, reports the Gazzetta, Acerbi has been training as the starter in the last couple sessions.
