AC Milan and Inter remain locked in talks with local authorities amid a joint effort to build a new stadium in the San Siro area.

For Inter, the construction of a new state-of-the-art venue on this sight remains ‘Plan A.’

However, the process has been notoriously slow despite the club’s relentless attempts to gather all the documents.

Meanwhile, everything could change in 2025.

According to Abodi, the heavily anticipated Melandri law reform should boost effectiveness and benefit Serie A giants.

“The first draft is ready,” he said.

“It is currently with the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy for appropriate review, after which the consultation phase will begin with football authorities and stakeholders.”

“I plan to present the decree by the first quarter of 2025, perhaps even sooner,” Abodi continued.

“It will account for the technological evolution.

“It will reshape the very notion of national market boundaries and bridge the gap between content creators, owners, and users.

“Moreover, it will redefine the concept of mutuality by revising the model,” he added. “Both horizontally within Serie A and vertically to benefit the broader football system.”

Furthermore, Abodi admitted he expects the new reforms to help the teams.

“I hope the top league works more effectively on the value chain, especially internationally,” he stated.

“Vision, strategies, and alliances are essential, A new Italian sports model is starting to take shape.

“This year, we laid the groundwork with numerous legislative measures and a wide range of activities involving our organization, Sport e Salute, and the Institute for Sports and Cultural Credit.”

Additionally, he spoke about the newfound balance.

“We have redefined the balance between elite results, major events, grassroots sports, and widespread infrastructure,” Abodi was adamant.

“The year 2025 will be crucial for solidifying this model, bolstered by systemic reforms in the pipeline, with particular focus on oversight bodies, justice, and guarantees.”
