Simone Inzaghi sounded a bit like his Napoli counterpart Antonio Conte during after the final whistle in Inter’s 2-1 victory over Feyenoord on Tuesday night, insisting that the Nerazzurri are doing ‘great things, which are often taken for granted’.
The Nerazzurri booked a spot in the Champions League quarter-final, where they will meet Bayern Munich, after seeing off Feyenoord with a 2-1 win on Tuesday night. Marcus Thuram and Hakan Calhanoglu supplied the goals, adding to a 2-0 win in the first leg at De Kuip last week.

Inzaghi, who had to do without Lautaro Martinez, Nicolo Barella, Federico Dimarco and Alessandro Bastoni in his starting line-up, was delighted with what he saw from his players in San Siro on Tuesday night.
He suggested that Inter’s performances are ‘often taken for granted’, sounding similar to Conte, who claimed that what Napoli are doing ‘is not normal, please trust me’ during his post-match press conference after his side beat Fiorentina 2-1 in Serie A at the weekend.
Inzaghi, speaking during his post-Feyenoord press conference, said: “I’m very happy, getting into the quarters is extraordinary. I feel a few compliments should be given to this team, and I will give them publicly tonight.
“The support of our fans is enough for us, but I would like to hear even more, this team is doing great things, which are often taken for granted. Nothing should be taken for granted in football.”
