Valentin Carboni is regarded as one of the next top up and coming players in the Serie A. The Inter starlet had been loaned to Marseille in Ligue 1 to continue his upward trajectory after a good season with Monza in Italy.
But unfortunately that hasn’t been the case. Instead he tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in October. This happened during an international friendly playing for Argentina against Venezuela. Carboni has now returned to Inter in order to continue his recovery. The contract with Marseille had a high buy clause of around €35m but unsurprisingly Roberto De Zerbi’s side is expected to not exercise that.
As per tuttomercatoweb, via La Gazzetta dello Sport, it is hoped that Carboni will be back fit by the end of June or the beginning of July. This will mean that he will be fit before the start of the Club World Cup which is being held in the US over the same. It remains to be seen whether manager Simone Inzaghi will take him to the tournament and if he does, that will be Carboni’s chance to impress the manager ahead of the new season.
