Beppe Marotta and Simone Inzaghi will hold decisive talks regarding the coach’s future at Inter Milan three days after the Champions League final.

This according to Italian newspaper La Stampa, via FCInterNews. They report that the summit will be Tuesday, with Max Allegri waiting in the wings as an “exit strategy.”

Inter Milan and Simone Inzaghi have yet to make a final decision on whether to continue on together.

The Nerazzurri coach’s current contract runs out at the end of next June.

By all accounts, Inter are preparing to offer Inzaghi a new contract. This would include a significant pay increase for the 49-year-old former Lazio coach.

However, there is also the offer from Al-Hilal in the background. The Saudi Pro League club have put absolutely enormous wages on the table to try and tempt the Inter coach.

For the moment, there is only one priority for Inzaghi. The Inter Milan coach is focusing on Saturday’s Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.

However, once that match is out of the way, Inter and Inzaghi must immediately sort out their future together.

Therefore, La Stampa report, Inter President Beppe Marotta will meet with Inzaghi on Tuesday.

This will constitute the crucial summit where the coach decides whether to stay at Inter, or depart.

Apart from the wage issue, Inzaghi will also seek guarantees from Marotta and the Inter board of directors regarding the transfer market. He expects a strong squad to continue to challenge for the biggest trophies.

Therefore, Marotta will aim to convince Inzaghi of the viability of his project at Inter on Tuesday.

Should Inzaghi make the decision to leave this summer, reports La Stampa, then Marotta has lined up a replacement.

The newspaper anticipate that the Nerazzurri President would want to bring in Max Allegri in that case.

Marotta trusts Allegri based on the duo’s extended spell working together at Juventus.

However, La Stampa note, at the same time, AC Milan are also increasingly pushing to bring in Allegri.
